Kathleen Kaiser & Associates (KKA) is expanding its range of services to include independent promotion for authors. This media relations work, called AUTHOR PROMOTE THYSELF, will include creation of media kits, websites, training on Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks, press releases and publicity, sending books out to reviewers, book events and signing parties, book clubs and more. Each author will receive a customized package of services depending upon the genre of the book and the extent of work required.

KKA has also refocused a portion of its services to concentrate on the nonprofit sector of California’s central coast, an area rich in arts and cultural organizations, community outreach, youth programs and environmental groups, many requiring awareness programs to attract donors and sponsors during this recession.

Beginning in 2009, KKA began marketing and public relations for literary groups such as the Ventura County Writers Club, authors and writing events including the Ventura Book Festival in 2010 and the launch of the Ventura County Book & Author Fair in November 2011.

Since its inception in 1993, KKA has worked with Fortune 500 companies to develop their image, promote specific products and produce events for clients. In 2002, Kathleen Kaiser volunteered her marketing expertise to the Ojai Shakespeare Festival to promote its summer season and youth internship program. A former teenage theater intern, she realized the lifelong benefits of including art in a child’s life. This experience steered her toward the non-profit world.

Branching out to work with other arts organizations, Kathleen discovered that these groups lacked access to critical communication with the local media and the business community at large. She fine tuned her background as a national publicist and sponsorship producer for the local markets, achieving great success for the Ojai Shakespeare Festival, Ojai Art Walk, Ventura County Writers Club, Ojai Studio Artists Annual Fall Tour, Ventura Book Festival, Ojai Wine Festival, Theater 150, Pacific Institute for Professional Writing, and Ventura County Humane Society.

KKA now offers its publicity, marketing and sponsorship expertise to a limited number of nonprofit organizations in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. This includes social media and websites, including blogs, Twitter and Facebook. Special rates have been established to accommodate the reduced budgets of nonprofits.
